A freshly baked bread straight out of the oven is something really special. It’s heavenly served with butter. Whenever we have friends over for dinner and serve this bread it’s gone within minutes.
This bread is perfect, since it’s easy to prepare and it can just rest overnight and in the morning it goes into the oven.
This is an easy to make bread without much effort. For me this recipe always works out and it’s our go to bread recipe.
Use a large bowl and mix the flour and salt together.
Stir yeast into little lukewarm water and add the rest of the water and pour to the flour mix.
Mix well until a smooth batter.
Rest for about 12 hours in a warm place. Best to cover it up with a kitchen towel.
Scrape the dough onto the bench, on a fairly thick layer of flour, and fold the dough together a couple of times.
Put it back in the bowl and let it rest for 1 hour.
Put a cast iron casserole with lid in the oven and set the oven to 250°C.
After 1 hour remove the casserole from the oven. Remember it’s hot! And add the dough into the casserole.
Sprinkle some flour on top, put on the lid and put the pan for frying for 30 minutes.
After 30 min. remove the lid, turn the oven down to 210 °C and let the bread roast for 20 minutes.
Remove casserole from oven and let it cool completely before removing the bread from the casserole dish.
